What does HYROX consist of?

A clear starting point for first-time athletes: understand the run-work structure, then use official sources for the exact rulebook details of your division and event.

The short answer

HYROX is a running-and-functional-fitness race format built around repeated running sections and functional workout stations. The public overview is commonly described as eight 1km runs paired with eight stations, but athletes should verify the current rulebook for exact standards and division-specific requirements.

How the order works

The event alternates between a run and a station. That means the race asks you to manage two different demands repeatedly: settle your breathing after each station, then protect enough energy to run again.

  1. Run 1 → SkiErg
  2. Run 2 → Sled push
  3. Run 3 → Sled pull
  4. Run 4 → Burpee broad jumps
  5. Run 5 → Row
  6. Run 6 → Farmers carry
  7. Run 7 → Sandbag lunges
  8. Run 8 → Wall balls
Is this the same for every division?

The race concept is shared, but loads, movement standards and division rules can differ. Confirm your division in the current official rulebook.

Where should I verify the official format?

Use the official fitness race overview and the current official rulebook.
